The Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church operates as a confederation of the local congregations, serves as the governing body, appoints clergy who are member of the Annual Conference to serve local congregations. Headquartered in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, a Resident Bishop is elected by the Jurisdictional and Central Conference. Bishop Linda Lee is the current Resident Bishop serving the Wisconsin Conference.
The Wisconsin Conference of the United Methodist Church is further divided into districts. Richmond United Methodist Church is part of the Capital District. The Rev. Dr. Sam Royappa currently serves as the District Superintendent.
Each district consists of Circuit Ministries. Rev. John Wesley Wells serves as Circuit #48 Circuit Leader for the following congregations - Cambridge: Willerup; Fort Atkinson: First; Jefferson: Immanuel; Lake Mills; Pleasant Valley; Whitewater Area Regional Ministry: LaGrange, Richmond, Whitewater: First, and Whitewater: Cristo la Roca.
Many ministry and mission opportunities are available to both the Clergy and Laity through the Wisconsin Conference of United Methodist Church.
