Richmond UMC engages several ministries in caring for our church family, for our immediate and surrounding communities, and on a regional level and beyond. We invite our friends, family and neighbors to experience God's love through our work and lives in our community.
Richmond UMC's Prayer Ministry lifts up joys and conerns our members brings up during Sunday Worship Service and prays together as a congregation. We also lift up joys and concerns that are in our hearts. Individual prayer requests are can be made confidentially to the Pastor or individual members. Prayer is central to spiritual development and worship. Prayer Requests can also be made online confidentially if you wish for a church member, Pastor, and/or prayer team. You may also call any of us and rquest that we contact you by phone or by completing and submitting the onliine form.
Sunday School for elementary school children is offered each Sunday after the regular worship service at 9:45 a.m. during the normal school year calendar. Sunday School is taught by a lay Sunday School Superintendent, and guided by the church Pastor and Church Council. The Sunday Scool room is located ajacent to the Fellowship Hall. Parents are always welcomed and encouraged to attend and assist with Sunday School. No experience is necessary to participate. All elementary school aged children are welcomed.
Adult Bible Study
Adult Bible Study is open to any adult who wishes to learn more about Scripture and gain a better understanding of the Holy Bible. Adult Bible Study is held in small groups in a group member's homes. Group members take turns hosting the study group. Adult Bible study is lead by a lay leader, and clergy often participates in the study group. No prior knowledge or experience is needed. Adults are welcomed to bring any Bible that they have and begin at any time. There are no prerequisite reading or "home work" to do. Just come and enjoy the fellowship and learning among caring friends and neighbors.
Sandwich Club are open to any adult between eighteen years old and retirement who get together for fun and fellowship once each month. The purpose of the Sandwich Club is to have fun getting to know each other in a social setting. There is not cost to be a Sandwich Club member. There are no membership dues, fees or application process of any kind. You just have to show up, bring your appetite, and be ready to make friends and have fun!
Tall Grass Farm Fiber Jubilee
Each Spring and Fall Richmond United Methodist Church brings our famous food stand food and refreshments to the Semi-annual Fiber Jubilee held at the Tall Grass Farm on Lake Lorraine Road in Richmond Township. the Tall Grass Farm Fiber Jubilee is a goat shearing festival open to the public. Yarn crafters and vendors of natural products are invited to display their goods for sale. Live music is provided. Proceeds from this important event provides significant financial resource that support Richmond United Methodist Church's operations and missions.
Rummage and Bake Sale
Each Spring and fall Richomond United Methodist Church holds a Rummage Sale in our Fellowship Hall. Gently used items are donared by members, neighbors and friends throughout the year, and immediately prior to the sale and offered to the public at very affordable prices. People come from surrounding cities and townships for this sale. Church members also provide a wide variety of baked goods for sale. Proceeds from this important event provides significant financial resource that support Richmond United Methodist Church's operations and missions.
Annual Fall Festival and Auction
For over 30 years Richmond Township's largest annual event draws hundreds of people from surrounding communities, counties and form out of state. Clean out your basements, garages, sheds, barns & yards -- bringing their "Treasures, Left-overs & Spares"... Whatever you want to get rid of - someone else wants it!
This good old-fashioned auction is professionally conducted by Weber Auction Service of Milton, Wisconsin. Richmond UMC is gratefully acknowledge and thank Gary Weber and his family who have generously donated their service at no cost to our church since this auction began. Proceeds from this important event provides significant financial resource that support Richmond United Methodist Church's operations and missions.
